- Who won the LVMH Prize 2025?
- Japanese designer Soshi Otsuki, founder of the menswear label Soshiotsuki. The 12th edition of the prize was awarded at a Paris ceremony in 2025. Otsuki — the third Japanese winner of the prize — received a €400,000 purse plus a year of mentorship from LVMH experts.
- What is the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers?
- An annual international award for early-career fashion designers, launched by LVMH in 2014 under the direction of Delphine Arnault. The prize is open to designers under 40 who have produced at least two collections, and a single winner each year receives a significant cash purse (€300,000 to €400,000 depending on edition) and a one-year mentorship from LVMH experts.
- How much is the LVMH Prize purse?
- The main LVMH Prize is currently €400,000, increased from €300,000 in 2025. Secondary distinctions — the Karl Lagerfeld Prize (€200,000) and, since 2024, the Savoir-Faire Prize (€200,000) — are awarded alongside the main prize. All recipients also receive a year-long mentorship from LVMH brand experts.
- Who founded the LVMH Prize?
- The prize was founded in 2014 by LVMH under the direction of Delphine Arnault. The first jury included Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquière, Riccardo Tisci, and other LVMH-house creative directors. The Karl Lagerfeld Prize was added in 2019 in honor of the late designer following his death that year.
- Was there a winner in 2020?
- No. The 2020 edition was paused as the pandemic disrupted the ceremony. Instead, the €300,000 purse was distributed equally among the eight finalists: Ahluwalia, Casablanca, Chopova Lowena, Nicholas Daley, Peter Do, Sindiso Khumalo, Supriya Lele, and Tomo Koizumi. The prize resumed in 2021 with Nensi Dojaka.
- Which countries have produced the most LVMH Prize winners?
- The United Kingdom (Wales Bonner 2016, Marques'Almeida 2015, S.S. Daley 2022, plus shared honors) and Japan (Doublet 2018, Setchu 2023, Soshi Otsuki 2025) lead the count. France, South Africa, Sweden, and Canada have each produced one main-prize winner.
